Opening on March 11, 2009, at the Italian Cultural Institute of Chicago, From Pyramids to Spacecraft is a travelling exhibition displaying selected projects by AV.
This is the first exhibition entirely dedicated to the work of AV.
Projects and models on display include the tent for extreme environment DesertSeal, the habitable rover for space missions MarsCruiserOne , the inflatable laboratory MoonBaseTwo, and the habitable mobile lounge MercuryHouseOne.
A catalogue will be published with a foreword by Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Architecture and Design at MoMA, New York. The catalogue will present the vision and designs of the studio, and considerations on the team’s work by other architects, designers, scientists and critics.
Paola Antonelli will give a speech at the exhibition opening in Chicago March 11, 2009, and Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler will present their work.
After Chicago, the exhibition will be displayed at Swissnex in San Francisco, opening April 30, 2009.
