‘From Pyramids to Spacecraft’

‘Architecture and Vision’ has released the new book “From Pyramids to Spacecraft”. The monography is showing a selection of 22 projects. AV has been gaining international recognition by it’s advanced projects. Founded by Italian architect Arturo Vittori and Swiss architect Andreas Vogler, the company is developing its vision, which is based on a new harmony between human, nature and modern technology. The projects explore practical solutions with current technology on how to integrate new structures into the flow of resources of nature and thus giving shape to the things to come. The foreword by Paola Antonelli, Senior Curator of Architecture and Design  at The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York and essays by leading experts are framing the advanced work of these two architects.

Architecture and Vision: From Pyramids to Spacecraft
Jamsil Sport Complex, Seoul, October 9-29, 2009

Architecture and Vision will show the exhibition Architecture and Vision: From Pyramids to Spacecraft at the Seoul Design Olymiad in the Jamsil Sport Complex from October 09 to 29, 2009.
This exhibition which allies research, design and technology is under the patronage of Dr. Gerhard Schmitt of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETHZ) and is organized with the help of the Swiss Embassy, the Italian Cultural Institute in Korea and the art consultancy Laurence Geoffrey’s.
In the context of the “Swiss Week” and the “IX Week of the Italian Language in the World” celebrations in Seoul architects Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler will give conferences at diverse locations in Korea.

Graduate Programme in Product Design (clasDIP)
Treviso, Academic Year 2009/2010, Period I

Starting on October 2009, Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler will team-teach graduate course in Industrial Design (Laboratorio di design dei materiali e tecnologie innovativi, I), at the University Iuav of Venice—at the premise of Treviso, Riviera Santa Margherita 74.

Under the title “InteractiveDevices”, we want to make use of the designers skills to explore the topic by means of design. The exploration will not only concentrate on hardware and software abilities, but also on social interaction of robots, between themselves and between humans. Students will explore robot applications in private, public and professional environments and investigate by design possible scenarios.
