EUROMOLD 2011 – EXHIBITION – FRANKFURT

‘AtlasCoelestisZeroG,’ a sculpture for micro-gravity that was ‘flown’ on the International Space Station in May 2011, will be displayed as part of EuroMold 2011, the 18th Annual World Fair for Moldmaking and Tooling, Design and Application Development. The exhibit showcases innovation solutions and smart technologies in tool and mold making, highlighting the latest products and processes for professional engineers, architects and designers as well as students and the general public. ACZG was developed using the 3DConnexion Space Navigator and 3D mouse technology.

SCIENCE FESTIVAL – EXHIBITION – GENOA

Architecture and Vision’s ‘WandBot’ project has been chosen for display at the annual Festival of Science in Genoa. This interactive object for visually impaired children was developed with CNR, the Italian National Research Council. The Genoa Science Festival is the largest science fair in Italy, attracting a wide and varied audience–from students and their families to researchers and experts–for hands-on events and exhibits showcasing innovative, interdisciplinary projects from the region and around the world.

The Architecture and Vision traveling exhibition “From Pyramids to Spacecraft” opened for the first time in Europe at the Italian Cultural Institute in Munich, Germany on Thursday, October 13, 2011. Italian Consul General Francesco Scarlata welcomed guests  and introduced special guest speaker, ESA Astronaut Roberto Vittori, who spoke about his collaborations with AV, followed by a presentation of the exhibited projects by Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler.

‘FROM PYRAMIDS TO SPACECRAFT’ – EXHIBITION – MUNICH

The Architecture and Vision exhibition, ‘From Pyramids to Spacecraft’, will be shown for first time in Europe at the Italian Cultural Institute in Munich, Germany. The traveling exhibition features selected projects by the design studio Architecture and Vision, founded by Italian architect Arturo Vittori and Swiss architect Andreas Vogler with offices in Munich, Germany and Bomarzo, Italy. Vittori and Vogler have been working together since 2003 and have received a number of important international recognitions. In 2006, their prototype for a tent, ‘DesertSeal’ (2004), became part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Vittori and Vogler were named Modern-day Leonardos in the same year by the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago for the exhibit “Leonardo da Vinci: Man, Inventor, Genius.” They share a keen interest in technology and the endless beauty of the world. They have both been worked in the aerospace field and this challenges the way they think about life on Earth. Vittori and Vogler will open the exhibition together with special guest ESA Astronaut Roberto Vittori on Thursday, October 13 at 7:00 pm.

The Architecture and Vision traveling exhibition “FROM PYRAMIDS TO SPACECRAFT” at the “2011 Shanghai International Science & Art Exhibition” was opened on Friday May 13th at the Pudong Expo in Shanghai. The exhibition was organized by the Shanghai Association for Science and Technology (SAST) and swissnex China.

Opening speeches were given by chairman of Shanghai Association of Science and Technology, Mr. Shen Wenqing, and Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of National People’s Congress of Pudong District.

‘LIVING – FRONTIERS OF ARCHITECTURE III AND IV’ – EXHIBITION – HUMLEBAEK

The Architecture and Vision projects “MoonBaseTwo” and “MoonVille” are part of the ‘LIVING – Frontiers of Architecture III and IV’ exhibition in the prestigious Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebaek, Denmark.
The Louisiana’s exhibition series Frontiers of Architecture I-IV, which the museum has been showing in the years 2007-2011, uses architecture’s deployment of other disciplines to illustrate the new movements and paths that are shifting the frontiers of architecture. With its overall theme LIVING, the last exhibition in the series, combining nos. III and IV and filling half the total exhibition space of the museum, turns the spotlight on the question “How does the Good Life look today?”

To promote the core values that have contributed to the 127 years of success and fame, Victorinox Swiss Army introduces “Time to Care”, a yearlong initiative celebrating “The Spirit of Innovation and Sustainability.” The centerpiece of the Swiss watchmaker’s BaselWorld stand will be a showcase exhibition of pioneering innovation and sustainability as practiced by some of Switzerland’s — and the world’s — best designers and architects.
The Time to Care exhibition at the Victorinox Swiss Army BaselWorld 2011 booth examines the innovative practices of Aurel Aebi (Atelier Oï); Martino d’Esposito (D’Esposito Gaillard); Andreas Vogler & Arturo Vittori (Architecture and Vision); Philip Loskant; Stefan Camenzind & Tanya Ruegg-Basheva (Camenzindevolution); Christian Müller (Christian Müller Architects); Patrick Lindon; Laurent Geninasca & Bernard Delefortrie (Geninasca Delefortrie SA); Roberto Loeb (Loeb Arquitetura); José Picciotto (Picciotto Architects); Lu Xiong and Ken Yeang.
Time to Care features intimate photos and video portraits of the above innovators and their most important contributions to sustainable design. After BaselWorld, the exhibition will travel to different countries.

The Architecture and Vision exhibition “From Pyramids to Spacecraft” opened on Tuesday March 22, 2011 at the Beihang Art Gallery with significant attendance of Chinese newspapers, magazine press and TV. The opening speeches were given by the President of Beihang University Mr. Huai Jinpeng and the Ambassador of Switzerland Mr. Blaise Godet. Thereafter, Arturo Vittori and Andreas Vogler presented the exhibition and their projects.

The exhibition will be featured from March 20 – 31, 2011 at the Beihang Art Gallery in Beijing, China.
The Beihang Art Gallery is part of the campus of the Beijing UNiversity of Aeronautics and Astronautics BUAA.
