084 Fontana Magica
'Fontana Magica' explores the effect of combining interactive elements to a public waterfall. The installation is conceived for an interior space of an airport terminal. The art piece, trough interactive technologies, stimulates and engages people on the participation. Touching it by hand the sculpture is 'switched on' and a playful interactive water fall effect starts. The goal is to create a social awareness towards the environment and one of its most precious resources, water the source of life, that we must actively protect. The functioning is simple, around the pool there are 8 circular buttons, easily identifiable by their lights. Once the buttons are activated through tactile interaction, as if by magic, water starts to fall from one of the 8 nozzles at the top of the column. More people take part of the action more water will fall and also the sound effect will be present in the surrounding space.
