WarkaWater | Venice Biennale

‘Architecture and Vision’ has been invited by the Global Art Affairs Foundation to show the project 'WarkaWater' at the 13th International Architecture Biennale of Venice titled 'Common Ground'. 'WarkaWater' is part of the 'Traces Of Centuries & Future Steps' Exhibition at Palazzo Bembo, which is an official lateral event of the Biennale. 'WarkaWater' is a 9 m high tower constructed with a giunco framework in a basket-like shape. The hanging fabric inside allows fog-harvesting. The lightweight structure is designed with parametric computing, but can be built with local skills and materials by the village inhabitants. ‘Architecture and Vision’ is inviting universities, institutions, NGO’s and private donators to support the further development of this project and its planned installation in the North of Ethiopia in 2013.
