021 Black Wings
Inspired by modern composite aircraft construction, ‘Black Wings’ brings a new dimension to the classic bookshelf. Similar to aircraft wings, the bookshelf is comprised of a cantilevering structure which directs its loads into vertical supports. Books and objects carried on the wings are elevated both physically and metaphorically. The carbon fiber’s high-gloss finish is extremely durable, yet beautiful. The elegant span of each shelf will elevate the function and appeal of any room in which it is used.

Ispirandosi alla costruzione degli aeroplani, in materiale composito, 'Black Wings' propone una moderna interpretazione della tradizionale libreria. Come le ali di un aereo, il ripiano è una struttura a sbalzo, i cui carichi sono distribuiti lungo il sostegno verticale. Al di sopra, libri e oggetti acquisiscono un’inedita leggerezza. Le prestazioni e la preziosità del materiale – fibra di carbonio – e la finitura lucida conferiscono una particolare eleganza alla libreria, evocando il fascino del volo.

Inspiré par la construction aéronautique moderne à base de matériaux composites, 'Black Wings' propose une interprétation moderne de l’étagère de livre classique. Semblable à la voilure d’un avion, l’étagère est une structure en porte-à-faux, dont les charges sont canalisées par un support vertical. Les livres et objets portés sur ses 'ailes' acquièrent ainsi une incroyable légèreté. La qualité, préciosité et finition très brillante du matériau à base de fibre de carbone renforcent l’impression élégante et fascinante de voir le meuble voler à l’intérieur de chez soi.
