Cleveland is missing meaningful pedestrian connections from downtown to new cultural developments on the lakefront like the Great Lake Science Center and a new pleasure boat harbour. The large scale kinetic sculpture ‘Aeoli Solaris’ is placed on the lakefront in a direct visual axis to downtown along 9th street. It’s 13 rings rotating in the wind form an important landmark in the development of Cleveland to a post-industrial city. During the night it will offer scenographic light effects powered by renewable energy from the wind.
