SOCIAL ARCHITECTURE - CAMERINO
Architecture and Vision will take part in the “XXVI International Seminar and Award for Architecture and Urban Culture” SOCIAL ARCHITECTURE at Ducal Palace, Camerino (Italy), the third of August.
AV’s director Arturo will present the ongoing project Warka House.
The Warka House is a modern interpretation of the Ethiopian vernacular architecture of Dorze, with the goal to provide with a better house for the villagers of the rural communities. The design intention is maintain the ancient local tradition of working with bamboo and other natural indigenous materials but offers higher standards of hygiene, safety and comfort.
The house is easy to be transported and mounted in different locations following to the current needs and circumstances of the family.
For nomadic cultures that changes seasonally location with the livestock the shelter will allow them a better and more confutable life.
The scope it is also that to avoid traditional skills and construction technique to dying out.
